NotebookLM’s Audio Overview turns your sources into a podcast-style discussion — but it can hang, fail, or never start. Usually it’s a source, language, or browser issue.

1. Verify your sources
Audio Overview can’t generate from nothing — or from sources it can’t read.
- Confirm at least one source is added and fully processed (no spinner).
- Remove broken links, empty PDFs, or image-only files with no text.
- If a source is huge, split it or remove the irrelevant parts.
2. Fix a stuck generation
- Wait a couple of minutes — long sources take time.
- If it’s still spinning, refresh the page.
- Delete the failed Audio Overview and regenerate.
3. Check language support
Audio Overview supports a growing list of languages, but not all. If your sources are in an unsupported language, generation may fail or produce odd output. Switch the output language in settings where available.
